Samsung gear fit manager won connect install#
Install 'Samsung Accessory Service' (apk search and download)Ģ. Sooooo frustrating!!!įinally got it running on docomo galaxy s5 unrootedġ. I researched the compatibility, and based on the specs they SHOULD work - no good reason that they wouldn't. I find myself in the same boat as you - very very frustrating. I DID try to use a 3rd party app with the Gear Fit 2, but it still wouldn't maintain a connection. I tried to find that app, but the only one that shows up in the Google play store for me it the one for Samsung phones and when I Google the link for the nonsamsung device app, it shows but when I follow it, the play store still redirects me back to the samsung version. They are both very bad reviews stating that the app will not connect o their various devices.Ĭan you install the Gear manager app for non-Samsung phones to see if that works? PS: there are two reviews in Japanese in the Samsung app market for the new Gear App.

Any advice is appreciated, otherwise I guess I will ride this out until the GF2 launvhes here and maybe an update will e forthcoming. In other news, all of this fiddling around made it so that the old Gear Fit Manager app will not connect to my old Gear Fit anymore so I am now using a 3rd party app which is not quite the same. I know the GF2 has not launched in JP yet (at least through DoCoMo, but I can't believe that my new toy is absolutely useless. I contacted Samsung customer support and they told me that since I am on a Japanese S6 they can't help me because they are US customer support, instead providing me with a useless link to the Japanese Samsung Products page. I have factory reset my phone, uninstalled my old Gear Fit and old Gear Fit manager app, reset the watch, all to no avail.

The phone can see the watch, and they do the fun Bluetooth pin exchange, but then the app throws an error message that says "Check if your device is compatible and if the app needs to be updated" and then the process won't proceed any further. The app downloads (I don't know if it matters but I retained the US version of the app store so I could keep my puzzle and dragons profile). It did not occur to me that the Gear Fit 2 would not work with this phone, but it will not sync with the required Samsung Gear App. I am on a Galaxy S 6 running the original OS, but the tricky part is that it is from a Japanese provider (DoCoMo).

So, if you have Galaxy Gear, make sure are running the newest firmware and have downloaded the new Galaxy Gear Manager app from the Samsung App store and enjoy.Gear Fit 2 will not connect to Gear App - Gear Fit Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting Hi everyone, I was super excited to try out my new Gear Fit 2 (ordered from Best Buy in the US), but heartbreakingly it will not actually connect to my phone. A smartwatch is supposed to solve problems, not create new ones.

If the app wasn’t on Samsung’s select list, all you would see was an icon along with a message telling you to pull out your phone.

For full details or mini-previews of notifications, you were limited to the stock Messaging app, Samsung’s email app, and a few others, but the experience was just poor. This is the way it should have been when first launched.ĭuring our review, one of our factors in deciding that the Galaxy Gear wasn’t worth its price tag is the fact you were limited to what notifications you could receive and how much detail was included in them. You can choose your Hangouts, Gmail, WhatsApp, and anything else you might want. With the updated Manager, you can select to have full notifications from any app on your phone transferred to Galaxy Gear – no more Samsung telling you which apps’ notifications are compatible with Gear. The update wasn’t anything too special, but now that the official Gear Manager application has been updated as well, the smartwatch just got a whole lot more useful. Last week, the Galaxy Gear smartwatch received its first firmware update from Samsung.
